Off the top of my head, the way that roles and archetypes are played upon, brought up, and beaten INTO the characters themselves, by each other, to such an extent that it’s obvious how incongruent the real character is vs. the Archetype. I wrote a college paper on how Jake’s dialogue in one of the final books played on the stoic nationalism often found in male sci fi heroes. All the characters have some shit like that. And marco is, imo, the BEST character to explore that through. Because he is constantly molding and reforming himself. Because he is in control. Because despite that, he still can’t escape who he actually is, and how he feels.

full story of what happened in office hours 2 days ago and how i accidentally rizzed up the TA who is also my crush

okay mind you this happened only 2 days ago bruh. okay buckle up cuz i cant stop thinking abt it 😭 so me and FAAM went to this review session for our midterm that was wednessday (i got a 75% btw) anddd i only went bc my crush who is also the TA was going to be teaching. soooo i came into the room and mans was sitting in the front so he didnt notice me, but later on he got to the blackboard and started yk teaching shit, and i made sure i was consistently looking at him to see if he'll look at me anddd i think he did like 3 times. not that many tbh anyways after review session we had office hours in a differrent room, so me and FAAM immediately head to office hours, and they have this annoying queueing system and there were A LOTTT of ppl in offce hrs that night, the room was full and there were only 4 TA's, and i only had my eyes on one guy HAHAHA ok so i mind u office hrs was from 6 - 8pm. i couldnt get help from him and i was waiting and waiting and waiting and me and FAAM kept talking abt him while he was in the room omfg 😭 FAAM was like 'wait so its him?' and he proceeded to point to the wrong TA and i was like, bruh FUCK no ITS NOT HIM DUMBASS like i think our behavior was hella obvious in hindsight bc we were literally talking abt him in front of himmmm bro 😭 FAAM was like 'you should go talk to him' BRO STFU YOU KNOW IM NOT! and i was likeeee 'what do u think of 'eagle' for my nickname for him?' okay so it was 7:50pm. and at this point i was waiting for my turn to get help so i was literally on TIKTOK bored as shittt 😭. and i feel my crush stand up from his seat and slowly walk to stand behind me... and i was thinking 'aint no way' and then he says 'y/n?' ok so i might have mentioned this but i had a small crush on him a few years ago? i think since like 2022. back then i shipped with cypher and was super fixated on him but i think sova was always in the back of my brain as a crush, although at the time i only had him as a platonic. also cuz one of my good friends who doesnt anymore used to ship with him so i didnt wanna overstep or anything.

anyways im not even sure how i suddenly decided to latch onto him, i think my fixation on yone at the time was starting to fade and my brain just randomly chose to fixate on him even tho he was still a crush at the back of my brain lol. and look where we are now/lh

as for what i like abt him, i think one of the biggest things i like is how polite he is/kind to others. i think thats like a rlly important trait in someone for me if i were like to date someone else and hes just rlly nice in general and very lovely, hes such a big sweetheart :)

also ok im gonna sound crazy here but my friends keep saying im a circle bcuz he rlly fits one of my types which is like the holy trinity of yone vergil and wyll. who are all like, responsible, serious, yet like kind and deeply caring. and sova definitely fits into that archetype haha even though hes not exactly the same?? most of those guys arent exactly the same but theres a huge overlap of similarity with them.

i do also think he is very pretty even tho he is unfortunately white/lh :') (or at least i smacked this guy with the asian beam. get wasian'd) idk i suck at explaining exactly why i like this guy, again i think a big part of it is how kind he is to others!! its again just smth i rlly value in a partner, he genuinely cares about others/esp people hes close to like his grandma. and is very thoughtful. also i like that hes super down to earth and humble like this guy is incredibly talented yet never brags about it at all hes just very modest. smug people drive me nuts so im glad hes not like that lol. he also is very passionate abt his interests like archery and also he does photography! i like to think he also does things like hiking, birdwatching and maybe some gardening in his spare time. idk its a shame we dont get too too much info about val characters although the lore is always constantly growing. i do think he does like lots of outdoorsy hobbies hes very respectful to and attuned with nature i think.

sorry this is getting so long omg. im trying to think of any last things to throw in... i think another thing i rlly love abt him is how calm he is. it kinda balances me out bcuz i tend to be a really hotheaded person but it takes a LOT for him to get bothered by something, or at least lose his temper. in the lore we've never really seen him lose his temper or anything like that? the closest it's gotten is that one image when they were releasing fade where it was like a flashback to him losing his eye and he looked super animalistic. actually i think that in general for him to get that mad or whatever it would probably have to involve one of his loved ones being in danger. which is nice bcuz it shows that he rlly cares.

festival write-up! Notable artists I saw: Cobrah, Slayyyter, Domiziana, Eartheater, Isabella Lovestoryyyyyyy (and don't u ever forget it!)

Cobrah was insaneee I was in the front row and she is SUCH a performer. we showed up like 15 minutes before her set started and the stage hands were still setting up this ominous prop

before the concert i thought she might be the type not to talk at all between songs because she seems so otherwordly and alien to me but she did talk and was super cute actually haha tho during her songs she has that dominatrix-esque charisma. mesmerising. (also it was so funny how the photographers absolutely dashed towards her everytime she was popping her pussy lol) the crowd was screaming like crazyyyyy after suck. everyone give it up for cunnilingusssss also she was going crazy on the cross during that one, it didnt even cross my mind to film it because i was sooo sucked in (lol) her performance. amazing, 10/10 (the face the waist the nails the shape etc)

For Domiziana I just knew Ohne Benzin before and sort of listened to her music a bit before we went to her show and I really liked it! she only had a 45 minute set and I did think it was a bit of a shame that she shortened her already short songs in favour of playing a few covers, id rather she play her full songs and not the covers. anyway greatttt energy i liked the songs that i hadnt heard before, ive had malena and auf die party on repeat ever since. she was also super cute when she talked between songs lol before she played amore she talked to a fan who was apparently going offfff in the front row and asked her if she was single and then went "Oh mein Gott Lea ist singleeeeeeee 🤖" and her DJ turned the autotune on halfway thru that was so funny. im afraid im writing this in a boring way haha u had to be there 😌 she was actually walking around the festival the next day i saw her around! (and I also Nura formerly from SXTN once? that was kinda wild. she's way shorter than i thought)

Slayyyter was wall to wall gay men as expected lol. she absolutely has a set of pipes on her, those grand 80s type pop songs off of starfucker suit her sooo well. she was really giving diva, u know when drag queens strike a pose and do that intense stare at the crowd, thats what she was doing. she played remixes of venom and self destruct, they were def more techno than the originals, i wonder if that is fixed in her setlist or she did it bc its technically a techno festival. it was fun to see the contrast between her more melodic poppy stuff and then the super noisy songs like james dean and the aforementioned remixes. the crowd were loving it all. i loved it, shes a great perfomer and a lot of her songs really go offfff live, theres nothing like a crowd yelling "K! COKE! MONEY!" in the call response that is Purrr (one of my fav songs off starfucker!) and she introduced that song by going: "Who here has done any substances toniiiiiiiiiight!!!" to a grand cheer of the audience. amazing truly.

Eartheater was. um. well i think she had the most thankless venue/time slot combination, she was the very first act on the last day on the big stage and there weren't that many people in the beginning, though it filled up as her set went on. i don't really listen to her music, i've just heard a few songs before and someone whose musical taste i trust recommend that i see her show and it was cool musically! her fit was sick as well. she just seemed to be in a bad mood throughout? she told off some guy in the front row who was on his phone (?) during a song and showed him the middlefinger instead of singing, made some annoyed comments that you could hear the bass from another stage a bit, and then for her last song she played like 20 seconds on the guitar (which she had played during the concert before) and then she stopped and complained that it was out of tune blabla we dont have time to tune it and then sang accapella. idk ive never experienced something like that, i thought it was a bit uncomfortable to witness as an audience member tbh

Isabella Lovestory baby! my love my angel my mother. its my second time seeing her, last time was in a tiny club were i bullied myself to first row and didnt really have space to stand and had to lean on the speakers the entire show, good times. this time also front row because i am bordering on being a groupie for her. the guy next to me was filming her on his flip phone i hope u enjoy ur 144p footage of her king <3 anyway she was soooooooo good as expected! she opened with botoxx which was so great to see live, vip was fucking sick as well. and she played an unreleased song called telenovela which sounded great!! im really looking forward to her new album <3 and she possibly played another unreleased one but im not entirely sure? i didnt recognise it but she didnt announce it so idk it might just have been something off her first ep. i think kamixlo was djing? and he opened with love4eva by loona yyxy lol my weeb queen. oh actually for that stage there were like screens in the back (u can see it on the cobrah pic further up) where they projected some like mood images and isabella had some of perfume (the jpop group), tommy february6, and possibly newjeans? at some point. but anywayyyyy i love her so much it was so great to see her live again. oh and i did get a little chin caress at the end when she went down to the audience lol successful groupie moment

actually Cobrah Domiziana Slayyyter and Isabella Lovestory were all on the same smaller stage and i thought it was a bit of an issue that the lights coming from the back were way brighter than the ones from the front so they were all backlit as hell and u couldnt really see their faces a lot of the time :( but still great performances from all of them

other than that there were quite a few dj sets, i liked schwefelgelb and we checked out horsegiirl who was also cool though a bit too high energy for me at that moment. i liked her original songs that she played! my little white pony and obsessed were both good. and the horse mask really is something else lol. and i wanted to see sega bodega as well but he cancelled short notice bc of an ear infection :( get well soon king 💪

Hey hey! So i havent fully read ur fics (its on my to read list but uh..... Im really bad at actually reading stuff on there djdndn one day i shall read ur entire fic list) but ive liked what ive seen so far so ur really high on my to read list and i saw u post the new chapter for the smell of the rain and i didnt see it was a multip chap at first so i just started reading it sjsjsjdj and this line specifically took me out so bad that i couldnt finish the chapter the day i started reading it bc i just kept laughing every time i went back to read it.

I just love the idea of Shino being like- this guy that really imagines that he is calm and not emotional and not the type to make decisions on impulse and everything (not like a certain somebody) (kiba) when he is truly easily overwhelmed by emotions and generally not great at dealing with them.

And it doesn't help that a lot of people do see him like that too. He's the nerd with the monotonous voice that you can always go to to ask a question and is always available and will answer even you don't listen to him 9 times out of 10. He serves that role both within the konoha 13 and within team 8 between Kiba's impulsivity and Hinata's shyness/emotional sensibility. He's meant to be the down-to-earth guy and he's not.

He repeatedly gets angry and frustrated in the canon but it's barely ever listened to because he's not good at expressing it in a way that sounds serious enough. And also I think he's not great at handling irrational and unanticipatable things, like his own emotions. He needs to be able to rationalise and makes sense of things and have explanations and justifications. And on the one hand, it does help because he spends a lot of time thinking his choices through and explaining them, but on the other, when he is faced with an emotion that is too strong or unexpected to be able to be channeled through reason, he as absolutely no tools to deal with it and he's just overwhlmed.

In conclusion, yes, I think he's the type of guy to make implulsive and maybe misinformed decisions because he's horny and he has a crush and the whole time he is internally staring at himself thinking "god why the fuck am I doing this???" lmao

Coincidentally, for the "why is Shino a teacher in Boruto where did that come from" crowd (I'm not judging, I get it), I think this why he's both good and bad with children. He's good at containing people and providing a cohesive and explained framework, justifying rules and letting space for them to be debated reasonably so that things make sense, and I think that's valuable for a lot of kids who often get assigned random rules and you have to follow them because that's what rules are for and adults decide. But also, children have many emotions often, they can be chaotic, especially a group of them, and, once again, when being consistent and fair and justifying himself does not suffice to make this manageable, he is probably quite quickly out of other options.

so my input on avoiding overthinking b4 you post is to start sharing your work in smaller places to build up your confidence! if you're worried about tracing/stealing, i don't want to say that's not a legitimate concern, bc it IS, however i will say it really doesn't happen too often! ive been around for years and i dont think ive...ever had anyone trace me, the most i've seen is heavy referencing and usually if you bring it to their attention, they instantly stop - when this happens i say it's 70% of the time just young kids that don't realize what theyre doing is wrong or didnt realize youd find out. you can also watermark your work! theres nothing wrong with watermarks, even if its just on a sketch! while it cant necessarily guard against tracers, it can guard against blatant theft. you dont necessarily have to post your work in progresses if doing so demotivates you; but you dont have to exclusively post fully rendered art, either. try to get into a habit of making doodles n more simple art in between your big pieces, and get into the swing of posting those! if you feel like you havent posted in a while, just make a quick doodle or something along those lines and share that! you can build up your confidence with posting online in general by starting small - you could start by sharing your art in discord servers or with your friends so you get more confident about sharing your work regularly. "ill do this when i'm good enough" is a SUPER detrimental train of thought...bc there will never be a point where you'll admit to yourself that you feel like you're ready. that's just a part of the artistic progression :') if you have that mindset, you'll ALWAYS have that mindset, and you'll never actually do the projects that you want to! if you think its outside your ability, it probably isnt really, and you should give it a go anyways! even if it doesnt look perfect or turn out exactly how you wanted it to, you'll probably still be happy in the end bc u gave it your best effort :]

SO yall met first when you were buying some soju and like idk beer or something (kids do not do this) for a party you’re hosting in your department and before checking out you see him just feet propped on the side of the cash register, him leaned back on his chair throwing a plastic toy ball thats supposed to be a stress reliever that you found out the store was also selling, it was a small store, not too much customers go there so he gets to laze around most of the time AND get paid!

so you saw him right, and he was just so in his world that he didnt notice you waiting at the counter, till you cleared your throat while putting the basket on the table

he nearly died, he said

he kinda lost balance while trying to lift his feet of the counter to scan ur things, like he fell backwards due to his haste but fortunately he hit a sturdy stand behind him, and slightly bonked his head, it wasnt too bad, you tipped over the counter to see if he was okay but before you could catch him defeated on the floor, he sprung up and with a pained smile he started spanning your things and giving you your reciept and all that

but while he was typing the amounts you noticed how he rubs the back of his head every now and then and you can’t help but feel bad

and you had a tiny light bulb just flicker open in your head and you went to the back of the store, jisung was caught by surprise and he tried to ask where you were going but you just flew all the way to the back (LMAOOOO)

But he just stood there looking at the bottles and cans you wanted to buy ad he nearly choked, like the hell you prolly bought all their supply

And so he was kinda concerned and wanted to ask you about it when you get back, he wasn’t much of a drinker sometimes but he loves to party, when he has the adrenaline, i feel like yeah he would chug a months worth of alcohol or sum

But he generally doesn’t like it, idk he’s just kinda weird okay

You came back with a frozen ice cream it was those power cap ice creams, the ones in the bottles and you rip off the cap to eat it, yeah those, it was frozen SOLID and you added it in your pile of goodies, and he cluelessly scanned it and updated your receipt, you then payed him and then offered him the ice cream treat with a sweet smile (omg ily)

And he was about to ask about the heap of alcohol you were buying and you two kind of clashed two ideas together it went like

Then yeah you were there at his department and it was like 11:40 and you thought of just walking to the bookstore and get you another pen and go home and just stop hoping for him to show up, then someone approached you looking like a dead person, Chan came your way lol, he was tired and Jisung spam called him to tell you he was late bc he fell asleep and you nearly kicked Chan in the face bc he looked like a ghost with a black hoodie on and it was dark so it looked like some floating head or something idk

And after a while of telling you to calm the hell down he told you jisung fell asleep and that he was rushing here right now and you nodded and apologized to Chan for your misunderstanding awhile ago, and then when Chan brushed it off and left for his dorm Jisung was speed running to you and collapsed on the floor, like he was out of breath and just dead from running like a few blocks to his building, he lives in the dorm farthest from his building since he signed up late for getting dorm rooms bc his parents kicked him out and told him they refused to have a giant baby in their home

So yeah, but he stood back up after a while and smiled at you with the biggest smile he could give you right now, and you two couldn’t help but laugh at literally everything you guys went through, and during the ice cream hang out you guys started warming up to each other and it was great, you guys were rlly close and he bluffed how he didn’t have your pen

But as he was dropping you off at your dorm he shoved the pen into your hoodie pocket and then said a quick goodbye and ran for his dorm

And you being clueless as hell, tried to tell him to be safe and goodbye he left already so you were left there with the pen in your pocket

He took up an architecture course and he’s starting his first year (wooo!!! You’re doing great sweetie) and you as a pre-med student who is also about to start your course, you both end up bumping into each other, he actually like fell on you or something like he was riding his bike to school but weirdly enough someone decide to get in the way and he had to swerve and he kinda lost balance and boom you were also there and he fell onto you.

So he wasn’t hurt so much, but you were tho, you had a few scratches and a wound on your elbow, your knee was slightly scraped but luckily it didn’t bleed, you were in iMMEnSE pAin, there was literally a wound on your elbow, prolly had some tiny rocks= in it or something and the pavement was BURnIng HOT

And when he stood up he helped you up ofc and he did his best to apologize to you a bunch of times while listening to his apologies and explanation you just dusted yourself off and smiled at him before reassuring him it was fine, he offered to walk you to the clinic or something and he wouldn’t budge when you tried to say no

And as soon as the nurse came back you two weren’t as tense and awkward anymore, maybe you two just wanted to get that off your chests and yeaHHHH after the nurse got you working and patched up you offered to walk him to his lecture hall but you didn’t know where it was and you only realized that when he asked if you knew where it was

But turNS oUT the student WHo tHREW tHE pArTy was FELix’s RooMaTE, and of ALL THE ODDS, you’ve been to countless parties but the first party thrown by an architecture student happened to be felix’s roomie, now if that ain’t the 0.3% in the gigantic campus in Harvard or sum shiz with university you guys are in.

And sooooo you were actually just holding a red cup and just going from a bunch of games to dancing a bit to just standing in the corner

You didn’t like to drink and you think you’ve had enough from losing a few rounds in beer pong but you won majority of the games there so you didn’t have to drink as much

And eventually you just stood in the corner-ish near the food and drinks table, you actually didn’t like to party as much, your friends do tho and they always convince you to go so here you are, and somehow the blonde dude beside you was asking if he could reach over to get some drinks since you were kinda blocking the way, and you apologized till you recognized the voice, he had longer hair so it kinda covered his face, but when he stood up straight after getting the drinks you guys like- had eye contact and you realized the Felix before with brown hair suddenly had blonde and it was longer now and his voice somehow got a little deeper

you and Jeongin were part of the major deputies in guarding the baby cousins like you two had to sit near or in the playpen of the kids ALL NIGHT LONG, and you couldnt even greet each other since at least one kid would randomly try to eat a metal toy car

then one of the older cousins took over the duty for a bit so you two could breathe and like get out of the crusty playpen, and you two had like no like friends or like you guys weren’t exactly close with your other cousins sooo you two ended up just chatting outside the house on the porch with your hot chocolates </3

and you know that myth or like belief that the person you’re with when the first snowfall happens like you two are meant to stay in each other’s lives for a long time or something

"that was an ollie. reki said that if you got that down, you'll be able to do other tricks." she said. "it should be easy enough to learn" she grinned "just watch videos like i did!" 

she did an ollie and skated closer to him. 

oikawa sweat dropped and timidly placed his foot on the skateboard. "i don't think it'll be that easy, y/n-chan" he chuckled 

"yo, what the hell are you two doing?" 

they both looked back to see hanamaki, matsukawa, and iwaizumi walking towards them. hanamaki laughed and pointed at oikawa "are you learning how to skate?" he snickered 

"do a flip!" matsukawa hollered 

"i can't do a flip yet!" oikawa exclaimed "and don't laugh at me. you're probably no better than i am" he rolled his eyes. "but y/n-chan could probably do it" he said

her eyes widened as she heard the same teacher's voice and desperately tried to halt her movement. although she wasn't fast enough and she was now frantically ushering the man to move away 

"ah! sensei! move! im gonna hit you!" she shrieked as she tried wobbled around 

"what the-- hasegawa-san you shouldn't--" 

he couldn't finish his words as her board suddenly got dangerously close to his face. the whirring wheels and the snow monster design almost slapping him right then and there. 

"SORRY!" she shrieked as she jumped over him and fell on the ground, rolling around, along with her board until she hit a wall nearby 

"y/n-chan! are you okay?!" oikawa shrieked in distress as he pushed the man away and sprinted to the girl. "im okay, oikawa-san" she said with a wince 

"but my butt hurts from that fall" she pouted "and my hand-- BLOOD!" she shrieked in fear. she holds the bleeding hand away from her as her expression turns into dread. "wipe it off.." she gagged as she looked at it in horror

"this is what bothers you the most out of everything that's happened?!" oikawa sighed in exasperation, though he did as he was told. 

"i don't like blood." she shuddered. "broken bones are what im used to" 

"im starting to worry for your well being if broken bones is something you consider 'the usual'." oikawa sweatdropped

behind them, the teacher glared and held his hand out expectantly. "i was wondering what the screaming was about." he said "but i didn't expect to walk in on whatever that was" 

"give me the skateboard, hasegawa-san." he demanded, making her whole body go ghostly pale 

"no uh.. i'll take detention instead" she bargained with a sheepish smile. "nope. give me the skateboard." the teacher shook his head as he went to grab the deck 

"NO! you can't take that!" she panicked and quickly grasped the other end "i can't skate without it!" she exclaimed 

"exactly." the teacher said. "you need to learn your lesson." 

"but -- but reki made that! i can't lose it! what if it breaks?!" she shrieked, now starting to gradually get more desperate 

"its not gonna break. and i don't know who this reki boy is, but you have to stop including him in everything." the teacher sweat dropped "and let go of the damn skateboard, kid. im not gonna throw it away, im just confiscating it" 

she shook her head as she peered up at him with exaggeratedly teary eyes, each looking like a pool of water waiting to just overflow. 

"will i get it back tomorrow?" 

"no." 

"then im not giving it!" 

"kid, cmon. your making this job harder for me" the man sighed in exasperation ."just give it." he said as he pulled it away from her and walked away. "hope you learned your lesson, kid. you'll get this back soon enough" 

y/n watched his retreating figure with a deadpanned look. she slowly faced oikawa and grabbed his hand. "should i break into his office and steal it?" 

oikawa sweat dropped and shook his head. "you shouldn't. you'll get into more trouble" he said 

"y/n!!" matsukawa and hanamaki yelled as they dove in to check her for injuries. "are you okay?! that was sick as hell but be careful!" hanamaki exclaimed. "you're bleeding!" 

"and your board got taken! don't worry, that teacher's nice. he'll give it back to you soon" matsukawa reassured her 

y/n drowned their voices out as she laid back down on the concrete, looking absolutely lifeless. "i crave death" she squeaked out as her eye twitches in horror 

"cmon now" iwaizumi sighed "it's not that bad" 

"yes it is. i just lost the only thing i have left of reki. it's over" she sulked 

"someone make the pain go away" she pleaded 

"which one? the heartbreak kind or your injuries?" 

"both please." 

a few buildings away from the school adam sat by the balcony of his newly rented hotel room. he held a binocular by his eyes as he watched the scene go down with a wide grin

"my eve hasn't lost her touch i see" he mused as he took a sip of his wine. "her skating is still as immaculate as ever" adam said as he let out a sigh of pleasure

"it makes my skin crawl!" he exclaimed

"and she.." he trailed off as his vision averts over to her, who was being helped by the boys. "is frowning. my eve is frowning." adam muttered as his grip around the device tightens, causing a soft snap to be heard.

his smile then fell as he watched the teacher walk away with y/n's skateboard through his binoculars. "but that nuisance is taking my little y/n's skateboard..?" he muttered

"you, dog." he called

"yes, mr.ainosuke?" tadashi replied

"get that skateboard back." he demanded as he threw the binoculars away, not caring that it had broken due to the impact. "and give it back to her as soon as possible" he said. 

"but.. are you not worried she'll know you're here?" tadashi asked him with furrowed brows 

adam snapped his eyes towards him and glared. "what was that? we're you about to disobey my orders just now?" he scowled through gritted teeth 

"do you have something to say? tadashi?" 

tadashi slightly bowed his head and replied. "no sir. i have no opinions." 

adam scoffed, followed by a grim laugh.

i love Cliff and Kyra's relationship so much ?? even though they had issues they managed to work things out and remain friends through the years! it's so refreshing over the narrative of people resenting each other after they break up.. im kind of curious tho , do they see each other strictly platonic now or is there still something lingering?

Aw, I’m glad to hear you like their relationship. Their feelings are very platonic now. Kyra views him as an ex and co-parent and then a friend as time goes on. Cliff does struggle not to think of her as still his family, even though he’s not romantically attracted anymore. But he’s knows it might be crossing a line to be that attached to a woman who divorced him and so he tries to let her just live her own life.

Can i ask just how tall Cove exactly is in Step 3? And will he be even TALLER in Step 4? My short heart cannot handle this. (Also this game is absolutely flawless and I haven't been able to stop thinking abt it since I played. Planning on getting the dlcs soon, y'all did SO WELL!!!!!!!!!)

I’m afraid we likely won’t. As much as we love OL: B&A, we’ve gotta start putting our whole effort into new projects soon. Maybe someday we could come back and do special new content, but it’d be quite awhile after all the planned DLCs have released.

How do you delete a save file? 

On PC or Mac you hover over a slot and hit the delete key, or you can go into the saved data folder and delete the files directly. On Android I’m afraid I don’t know. You can save over them with something else, though.

Hello! I've really been enjoying Our Life and am noticing some animation changes with the update! I just had a question though. In Step 2 we meet Jeremy but I was wondering if he was only meant to appear in Step 2 as a typical mean kid or is there more we don't know? 

Jeremy is a horrible pill in Our Life, but he is also a beloved romance option as a teenager in our other game XOXO Droplets. His personality is quite different once he grows up more. I imagine Cove and the MC would be pretty surprised.

We’d be shy about it at first and avoid mentioning what he was doing, but he would try to keep track of it based on any insight the MC gave him. The longer you’re with him, the more it could be just a normal thing the two openly talked about.

Are the 5 moments included in the Derek and Baxter DLCs different from the normal Step 2 and 3 DLC? And will they focus exclusively on Derek and Baxter respectively? I was a little confused when I read the DLC FAQ. Thanks! 

Mostly they’ll be completely new Moments that star Derek or Baxter. Though, for example, Derek’s DLC will allow you to take him to the Soiree. If you go with Derek that will remove your ability to go with Cove in the Cove Step 2 DLC.

Sorry if you've already said this, but how will your character transfer over to the patreon exclusive NSFW DLC?  Can it access your game memory or will you select traits your character showed and choices you made from a list? 

It’s a standalone event that happens for MCs who are in a relationship with Cove and have been dating him for a while. Other details about the MC/their dynamic with Cove will just be picked in the event itself. It won’t try to take data from a specific save in the actual game.

I love your games, but currently only have an Android. When will you put your other games on android? 

I don’t know. They might not able to be formatted for Android very well, unfortunately. We’ll see how much time we’ve got later this year to try figuring it out.

Intro & My take on KM

I’m new around here so it’s supposed to be (not so short) introduction, since I don’t know how to start a blog heh. I hope to sprinkle my 0.5 cents into the KM conversation and maybe to bring a new perspective from someone, who is not a part of the typical English-speaking West.

I was born in Siberia (it’s in the Asian part of Russia), currently live in the European part of the country while studying at a Uni (European in terms of geography, not in terms of everything else i’m definitely not shading rn lolllll). English is not my first language, I’ve just kind of learnt it to some extent. Due to this it takes me more time to write a post; and I may (and will) make some grammatical & other mistakes. Plus I’m lazy AND busy with Uni, so I won’t even promise to be consistent in posting smth lol. But I thought I need more practice in terms of writing in English, so here I am, actually scribbling something. This feels weird, because I’ve been around stan Tumblr since 2015, but never ever interacted, just read.

How I ended up around Jikook/Kookmin (and BTS) & My (long&messy) take on this matter

Although I had heard of BTS before, I became an Army only in October 2018. I had kinda avoided them, because you know... boybands.... sing songs about romantic love and how they love girls.......... (+I had been around Twitter when 1D been at their peak and I remember a quite toxic community of fans, whom always had scared me). Shortly, hello stereotypes. Obviously, after I got engaged I felt terribly sorry that I had been sleeping on them, but what is done cannot be undone. 

Someone I knew back then reposted one of their MVs and I, during my sad hours of procrastination, decided to watch it. Then I saw their live performance with the same song. And I thought “wow these guys can sing and dance and the music is kinda cool, i need to check this out maybe??” 

Then a funny thing happened. One of the next videos I watched (the same person had it added to their page) was a 2016 BangtanBomb where JM and JK practiced their Coming of Age dance.

Well, that was precisely me after I watched it. I don’t even know how to explain this, it was kind of a gut feeling? Whatever you call it, I started to get suspicious and couldn’t even explain to myself why. /actually now a do have questions to this vid and the main one - why does everyone cringe that much? if it’s a girly choreo than they had done some “girly” moves before. why is there such strong reaction??/

I started to get deeper and went to some ru-shipper communities. Shipping culture among Russian speaking fans is... well, weird to some extent, but I maybe address this topic some time later. You need to consider that (as far as you probably know) Russia is quite homophonic country and sadly is not the greatest place for LGBTQ+ community at the moment. The non-frienly influential attitudes hanging in the society + the general shippers’ weirdness = the result is not that nice honestly. 

I struggled for some time in order to find more mature people (not just in terms of age but in general sanity), failed, ended up with some EXTREMELY toxic ru-fans of TK, which was/is the most popular pairing here, spent among them like 15 minutes and ran away horrified. After that I didn’t even try to engage with shippers or believers or whatever of any pair and just decided to enjoy the music and the content (which is a great idea, highly recommend!)

After a couple of days I discovered that JK makes videos. I love video, films and visual art so I immediately found them on YT, saw the titles with names of different cities from all over the world and was like “Oh that must be so cool, he’s visited so many outstanding places I’ve never been to, so I really need to watch it! I shall enjoy some beautyyy”. Then I clicked on GCFt.

Well, what can I say. I did enjoy some beauty, but not the type I had initially anticipated. The biggest clickbait in my entire life. JK should be proud of himself.

I had already known Troy back then and I known the song’s lyrics so it would not be an underestimation to say - the video just blew my mind. I was like - hold on is this real? seriously?? no really really????? he manage to get away with something THAT obvious?????? dude how

As a person who edited videos AND is not a native English speaker, I don’t buy the explanation “oh he mustve didnt get the lyrics lmao”. You just don’t do that. You don’t. DON’T. You google and translate every shit you don’t understand, every word and idiom you’ve never encountered, because otherwise the possibility of an epic failure is very likely. You wouldn’t want to give your mum a video as a birthday present and then discover that you used a song with WAP-ish lyrics, right? (well maybe that would be okay in your family, I don’t judge, but that’s not the case for people I know). So don’t you dare to degrade JK’s intellectual capacities; such assumption is really offensive. He is a smart boii, he knows exactly what he’s doing in terms of his art.

So I was shocked, but decided to look for the context - maybe I missed some previous events regarding this Tokyo thing (another great idea - always check the context). Well, apparently I didn’t, because the whole narrative with the trip for two, lovely selfies etc. made my poor brain lowkey explode. (I still don’t buy the rings theory thing though)

But I didn’t give up lol! I’m a bit stubborn and it’s very hard to convince me in anything, so I decided to search for more context, more of their interactions, moreeee. Remember, the late October 2018, there were no swan lakes, RB, and even MMA18 hadn’t happened yet. 

This time I ended up watching content in more or less consistent way, and when I saw all of these scenes with affectionate JM and a cool badass i-don’t-care-about-anyone-i’m-a-manly-man-with-no-feelings-whatsoever JK, I just hysterically laughed. 

Homophobic Russia, remember? I recognized this. Growing up here being LGBT myself, taught me the same type behaviour during my high school days. When a girl I kinda liked but didn’t what to admit it to myself was nice to me or (oh god) flirted with me, I did something similar. It’s like a huge panic mode. Being an introvert doesn’t help either. The funniest thing is that you may not entirely realise what exactly is going on in terms of your own feelings, especially at that age (16-18ish). In my personal case, I thought I liked her but as a friend, only later to realise that well not as a friend oops :DDD The second thing (already not so funny) is that you actually consciously or unconsciously try to avoid the subject as much as possible, as long as possible and pretend that nothing is going on. We’re just bros. Stop doing this stupid gayish thing and don’t look at me like that, you’re annoying. If you ever do this again I (gently) kick you. I’m straighter than a straight line in my math textbook. IDK, but probably that’s your brain is somehow trying to protect you. Again, in my case&position I knew that the consequences for any non-straight person being outed would be bad (TW not to the point of being killed bad, but to the point of being excluded from a big part of society). So for me it was a mixture of the internalized homophobia + lack of self reflection + just being a bit emotionally slow + very! straight community around. Shit happens, I was a teenager and made my share of mistakes, but that experience helps me to recognize the same pattern of behaviour up to this day.   

So coming back to KM, because the post is already waaay too long and I just ramble. It’s been 2+ years for me being a part of this fandom, and what can I say... Things become more intense and eventful with every year passing by ;) Funny how I felt that vibe from the 2016 dance practice video. Seeing the Black Swan performance a week ago almost had me choked, no joking. They are amazing.
